THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES

I approach therapy from a client-centred and strengths-based perspective, working toward the goal of helping you thrive in your life. I believe everyone brings inherent strengths to therapy that serve as the foundation for growth and change. In our work together, I can help you identify these inner resources and offer tools and skills to build upon them so you can reach your goals and make meaningful advances in your life.

Accepting New Clients. Working in-person (Kelowna) and online.

My name is Kristen Hamilton and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. I graduated in 2012 from Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles County with a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Over the past 12 years, my professional experiences have been driven by my passion for working with individuals and families. I have worked in a wide range of settings and populations, including hospital, community and private practice.

I am passionate about helping individuals identify and overcome the obstacles that prevent them from reaching their full potential. I seek to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to explore patterns and beliefs that may be hindering them from making meaningful changes in their lives. Together, we can explore and process the impact past wounds and relationships may be having on your sense of self and your relationships. Through processing and beginning to challenge these beliefs, I seek to help my clients feel more empowered and confident in establishing and maintaining their relationship with themselves and others.

Accepting New Clients

My name is Christine (she/her). I hold a Master of Science in Counselling and was a school counsellor in California prior to relocating to British Columbia. I am currently in the process of registering with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. As a pre-registered counsellor, I will be working under the supervision of Kristen Hamilton, MA RCC-ACS at the Wellness Collective.

Therapeutic Approach

My professional experiences have always been closely tied to supporting individuals as they navigate different aspects of personal and professional development. Prior to private practice, I worked as a counsellor in academic settings which allowed me the opportunity to work closely with both adolescents and adults.

My approach is rooted in empathy, compassion and a genuine desire to support you through unique challenges and transitions. I work with people from diverse backgrounds, helping them address a wide range of issues such as anxiety, depression, relationships, professional/academic stress, life transitions, sports performance and more. I draw from a range of evidence-based modalities, including Attachment Theory, AEDP, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, CBT, strengths-based approaches, and mindfulness techniques. By tailoring my approach to suit individual needs, I strive to facilitate personal growth, enhance self-awareness, and promote lasting positive change.
